According with new regulations, passengers who have a valid United States visa and travel to Mexico as tourists, or in transit or in short business trips, will be allowed to enter our country without a Mexican visa. Mexican Immigration authorities at the port of entry will request a valid passport and a valid visa to the United States. Proof of economic means may be requested (you can present an international credit card, travelers checks, etc.).

Permanent residents of the United States and Canada are exempt of visa, and can travel to Mexico with a valid passport and valid permanent resident card.

Passengers traveling to visit Mexico as tourists, in transit or for business purposes, that arrive in a direct flight from the United States, will be allowed to enter Mexico presenting a valid passport and boarding pass. Proof of economic means may be requested (you can present an international credit card, travelers checks, etc.).

BUSINESS AND TECHNICAL SUPPORT PERMIT VISA
FOR U.S. AND CANADIAN CITIZENS AND PERMANENT RESIDENTS

This Consulate has the authority to issue the corresponding Consular Visa for multiple entries to all those businessmen and technicians who wish to make trips of limited duration, on behalf of U. S. companies based in Central and Northern Florida.


1) Business - All those persons who travel to Mexico to conduct business meetings in order to promote sales or explore new investment opportunities in Mexico.

2) Technical Support - All those persons who travel to Mexico provide technical support; provide training; conduct business audits; conduct teaching of new techniques; perform installation, service or equipment repairs; perform installation of specialized software; and any person who performs a task relative to service contracts signed between companies in the U. S. A. and Mexico.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION:
Applicants must send by mail the documents required below to the Consulate of Mexico in Orlando, at 2550 Technology Dr. Orlando, Fl, 32804. Once the documents are examined and authorized by the Visa Department, an appointment to obtain the visa should be scheduled.

1. Photocopy of Valid Passport: the page containing bearer鈥檚 personal data, picture and signature of bearer. Passport must have at least one (1) blank visa page. You should bring the original Passport the day of your appointment.

2. Two recent photos, front view, 1陆 by 1陆 inches, color with white background: (Instant photo-machine photographs are not accepted). Please make sure that the face does not account for more than 50% of the photo.

3. Original letter from the company in the USA, typed on company's stationary paper, stating:

a. Purpose of the trip to Mexico (in detail)
b. Date of travel and length of stay
c. Names and addresses of the companies to be visited in Mexico
d.That the company in the US takes responsibility for the applicant's salary and expenses while in Mexico.
e. Applicant's length of employment with the company in the US
f. Address of the company sending the applicant to Mexico
g. Period of time requested (up to one year).

4. Application Form (printed on both sides in a sheet of paper), duly completed either typed or printed.

PROCESSING TIME
If you comply with the requirements, your visa may be issued the same day of your appointment.

URGENT NOTICE FOR OTHER NATIONALITIES
Please verify with the Mexican Consulate if your nationality required authorization from the Mexican Immigration Authority (Instituto Nacional de Migraci贸n), in order to conduct Business meetings or provide Technical support.

In order to obtain corresponding approval, applicant must submit by mail the required documents, following guidelines posted in our web site. Process for authorization takes approximately four weeks and it has to be done through this Consulate, with exception of those cases when the applicant has a business or personal contact in Mexico, in which case the Mexican party must apply directly at the Offices of the National Immigration Institute (INM) in Mexico city or its regional offices on behalf of the applicant and submit proper documentation as requested by above mentioned authorities.

If the Applicant has been transferred by its company to reside indefinitely in Mexico while working for a Mexican based firm, the Mexican employer must apply for the work permit on behalf of said employee directly at the Offices of the National Immigration Institute (INM) in Mexico, in order for the applicant to be entitled to engage in remunerative activities.

REQUIREMENTS FOR A RETIRED PERSON WHO WISHES TO LIVE IN MEXICO.
VISA (RENTISTA)

This permit allows you to live in Mexico from your own financial resources and is valid for one year and entitles you to multiple entries.

REQUIREMENTS FOR APPLICATION:
Applicants must send by mail the documents required below to the Consulate of Mexico in Orlando, at 2550 Technology Dr. Orlando, FL 32804. Once the documents are examined and authorized by the Visa Department, an appointment to obtain the visa should be scheduled.

1. Photocopy of Valid Passport: the page containing bearer鈥檚 personal data, picture and signature of bearer. Passport must have at least one (1) blank visa page. You should bring the original Passport the day of the appointment.

3. Proof of financial support: Applicant must prove a monthly pension income at least $1,000.00 USD dollars, or equivalent in Mexican currency. If the applicant will be accompanied by members of his immediate family, proof of an additional income of $500.00 per month for each member 15 years of age or older is required. Documents accepted as a proof are: Letter from a banking institution certifying your monthly income under above mentioned terms; Social Security pension information letter or Pension Receipts.

4. No Criminal Record Report: Applicant will be required to prove a clear criminal record by providing a statewide criminal record report from the Florida Department of Law Enforcement. The Florida Department of Law Enforcement may be contacted by telephone at (850)-410-8109.

5. Application Form , printed in one page both sides, duly completed either typed or printed.

FEES

Under this migratory category, applicants can not work in Mexico nor engage in a profitable activity. Applicants are entitled to import temporarily their household effects.

2. Original letter of acceptance from the school or university in Mexico. The academic institution must be certified by the Ministry of the Interior (Gobernaci贸n) to receive foreign students. The letter should be recent and state the term or academic year of studies and the name of the program that the applicant is going to enroll in. The Consulate is authorized to issue a student visa providing that the applicant is seeking a BACHELOR`S DEGREE OR ABOVE.

3. Six recent photos, 4 frontview, 2 right side, 1 陆 x 1 陆 inches (smaller than passport size), color and white background: (Instant photo-machine photographs are not accepted). Please make sure that face does not account for more than 50% of the photo. (No glasses, no jewelry).

4. Proof of economic solvency: Notarized letter from the parents stating that they will be sending their son or daughter the amount of, at least 350.00 US dollars per month, besides tuition. Or other proof of economic solvency, including Bank Statements, international credit cards, etc.

5. Application Form , printed both sides in one page, duly completed either typed or printed.

6. FM1 form, duly completed either typed or printed.

7. If you are not a US citizen, one photocopy of your US Permanent Resident Alien Card (green card).

TEMPORARY IMPORT OF HOUSEHOLD EFFECTS

Household effects are defined as those items that constitute the furnishings of a house and are exclusively for use, on their daily needs, by a person or family. This includes clothes, bedding, books, works of art and scientific materials, as long as they are not part of a collection for expositions or art galleries.

In order to be allowed by customs authorities to import temporarily these items into Mexico you must present your inventory list at the Mexican Consulate in your area to be issued a certificate. This certificate is called CERTIFICADO DE LISTA DE MENAJE DE CASA A EXTRANJEROS. In order to apply for this document, the following is required:

1. Valid U.S. Passport. And four copies of the page with your personal data, picture and signature.

2. A typed letter addressed to the Consulate General of Mexico providing your present address in the U.S. and the address where you will establish your residence in Mexico; you must also indicate that you intend to return your household goods to the US at the end of your stay in Mexico and to notify the customs authority of any change of residence while in the country.

3. All household effects must be included in an inventory list. The list must be in Spanish, and typed.

4. Each item must be numbered progressively. In case of electrical appliances or electronics you must specify make, model and serial number (including kitchen appliances).

5. The letter and the inventory list should be prepared in original and three copies. Original and all 3 copies must be signed as originals.

IMPORTANT:
Importation of your household effects are temporary and only for the validity of your immigration permit, and you may import your household effects only once. No motor vehicle may be included in your household inventory list.

What do I need to do if I want to invite a friend who is a citizen of another country to visit Mexico?

You need to apply for an entrance permit for your foreign friend at the National Migration Institute.

You need to apply for an entrance permit for your relative at the National Migration Institute so that he/she can enter Mexico as your economic dependent. You will need to show proof of a direct, first degree relationship (siblings, parents, uncles and aunts, nieces and nephews) and proof of your economic standing.

I want to marry a foreign citizen. What paperwork is involved?

To marry a Mexican citizen, the foreign citizen must obtain authorization from the National Migration Institute.

To obtain this authorization, the foreign citizen must be in Mexico. His or her migratory status is irrelevant. He/she must provide the date, place and number of the office where the civil service will take place. The Mexican party must provide proof of his/her nationality.

Where and how can I get a tourist visa to visit Mexico?

You need to go to a Mexican consulate abroad to ask about the requirements and to take the necessary steps to get your visa. The requirements differ from country to country.

If you are a citizen of Andorra, Argentina, Aruba, Australia, Austria, Bahamas, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Costa Rica, Cyprus, the Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Great Britain, Greece, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Iceland, Israel, Italy, Japan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Monaco, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Panama, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, South Korea, Sweden, Switzerland, The United States of America, Uruguay or Venezuela, you do not need a visa to enter Mexico, although you must present a valid passport and fill out an immigration form for tourists, businessmen or women, stopovers or 鈥渧isiting advisors鈥, which can be obtained in travel agencies, airlines or at the point of entry to Mexico.

The immigration officer at your point of entry into Mexico can also request that you demonstrate that you have sufficient economic solvency and a found trip ticket.

If you are a citizen of any other country, you need to go to a Mexican consulate to request a visa. If you have a family member, friend or acquaintance in Mexico, he or she can do this at the INM.

How can I get permission to work in Mexico?

You must get permission from the INM to enter Mexico and authorization to do paid work. You must demonstrate that you have a job offer from a Mexican business or institute.

You need to get a student visa from the INM by demonstrating that you are enrolled in a Mexican school and that you have sufficient financial resources to fund your stay.

You need to go to the INM and request an extension or renewal of your immigration document. To do this, you have to demonstrate that the original reasons for which you were granted the existing visa.

I lost my FM2 or visa . How do I get a new one?

You must go to any INM office or delegation to request a new FM2 or visa Form. You will need to fill out an application and bring your passport and the report of the robbery or loss of the document that you made to the proper authorities. Can I do any sort of work in Mexico?

If your immigration status is 鈥淣o inmigrante鈥 or 鈥渋nmigrante鈥 (non-resident immigrant), you need to get permission from the INM before you can work in an area that is different from the one for which you were authorized.
