REPRESENTATIVES OF A MEDIA ORGANIZATION (PRESS)

 

Requirements

1.- Applicant must apply in person.

2.- Application for Mexican Visa duly completed, either typed or clearly printed.

3.- Original recommendation letter from the media organization that you represent. The letter must be typed on the company’s official stationery, stating:

A) The purpose of your trip to Mexico in detail.

B) Date of travel and length of stay (including post-production work, if any).

C) Name, date and location of event or events that you will be covering.

D) Indicate who will be responsible for your expenses.

4.- Original passport, plus one copy of the page with the bearer’s data, picture and signature. The passport should have at least one full unused visa page. You should submit both the original passport and the photocopy.

5.- One recent photo, front view, 2x2, color with white background (instant photo-machine or digital photos are not accepted).Please make sure that the face is not more that 50% of the photo. No glasses.

IMPORTANT NOTES:

  • Those who will be entering with the purpose of filming, you do not qualify for this kind of visa. This is only for those who are part of a media organization and are entering with the purpose of covering an event in the country.
  • If you are required to take equipment, it must be listed on a separate official stationery, signed by the person in charge and stating that the equipment is going to be used while filming the event to events and that it will be returned to the United States once your assignment concludes.
  • VISA PROCESSING TIME IS FIVE BUSINESS DAYS.
  • DO NOT BUY YOUR TICKET BEFORE YOU GET A VISA.
  • IF THE APPLICATION DOES NOT COMPLY WITH THE REQUIREMENTS, WE WILL BE UNABLE TO PROCESS IT.

Please note that the requirements presented in this section apply to the Consulate General of Mexico in Chicago only.
