IMPORTANT INFORMATION REGARDING TRAVELING TO MEXICO
- Permanent Residents of the United States of America (regardless of their nationality) traveling by air, land or sea to Mexico do not require a visa to enter Mexico for the purpose of tourism, business or transit. They must present their valid Permanent Resident Card of the United States of America and a valid passport.
- Effective May 1, 2010, all foreigners with a valid US visa stamped of their valid passport, do not need a Mexican visa to enter Mexico for the purpose of tourism, business or transit, for a stay of up to 180 days, regardless of their nationality.
- If the US visa stamped on your passport has expired but you have a document proving your legal status in this country, you must apply for a visa at the Mexican Consulate if your nationality is mentioned in the following list: http://www.inm.gob.mx/index.php/page/Paises_Visa
- Advance Parole, Forms I-20/J-1, I-797, I-512 documents are not accepted for entry into Mexico.
- Any certified documents issued by a foreign country must be legalized and or validated with an Apostille.

Requirements

2. Valid passport original and one copy of the pages containing personal information and all US visas.
3. One passport size picture No glasses.
4. I-94 or ESTA (if applicable), Advance Parole, signed I-20/J1 or signed I-797 or I-512 TPS
5. Three consecutive months of Bank Statements with a minimum ending balance of $4129.64 USD per month. OR
6. Three consecutive months of pay stubs with a minimum net of $1,336.00USD per month with letter from employer in company´s letterhead specifying amount of time employed, position and salary.
7. Pay $54.00USD fee, cash, credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard).

- If the purpose of entering into Mexico is working there and you will receive a salary or payment (lucrative activities), you will have to apply for a prior authorization to the National Immigration Institute in Mexico. In that case, you will receive an authorization number (NUT number).
As soon as the NUT authorization has been issued you must be in contact with this Consulate in order to schedule one appointment and to process a visa. Once you have the approval from INM you have 30 days for the interview and the issuance of your visa.

This visa applies when you will stay in Mexico more than 180 days for retirement, investments, professional activities, technical activities, artistic activities, scientific activities, sport activities or a minister of religion; without permission to perform remunerated activities.

- Original and copy of 12 consecutive months of Bank Statements, or Investments with a minimum ending balance of $69,597.00USD per month.
- Original and copy of bank statements with deposit of a minimum of $4,129.64 USD per month from a job or pension from the previous 6 months.
- If a company/organization/association in Mexico is sponsoring or inviting the foreign national, the applicant can submit an original invitation letter*. Original invitation letter must be in company letterhead, address and signed. Ministers of religion should submit original letter of “anuencia” (consent) of the Ministry of the Interior (Secretaría de Gobernación) from Mexico.
- Pay $54.00USD fee, cash, credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard).

II. Level and name of the program/studies/course where the student has been accepted.

V. Full name of the Institution and additional information (institution address, telephone, fax number, e-mail, website and name of the contact).

Original and copy of documents proving that during the last three months has had a job, scholarship or pension that provides a net income of at least $1,336.00 USD per month.

Original and copy of the last three consecutive months of bank statements (checking, savings, etc.), or investment accounts (401k, IRA, etc.) with a minimum ending balance of $12,692.57USD per month.
8. Valid parent’s identification and student’s birth certificate with Apostille or Legalized.
9. Pay $54.00USD fee, either cash, credit or debit card (Visa or Mastercard).

This type of visa is for you if:
- This type of visa is for you, if you are moving to Mexico to be there indefinitely, applicable to retired workers only.

4. Economic Solvency:
- Original and copy of twelve consecutive months of your bank account or investment accounts with a minimum ending balance
per month of $278,447.07 USD; and/or
- Original and copy of Yearly Social Security Statement proving a monthly income from pension of $6,923.00 USD during the past six months. You can also submit original and copy of official documents proving the ownership of a property/company/business.
