Visitor Visa to carry out adoption procedures |

Applicable to foreigners who intend to enter Mexico as a Visitor for adoption purposes and who are nationals or habitual residents of a country that is a member of the Convention on the Protection of Minors and Cooperation in Matters of International Adoption or a country with which Mexico has signed an agreement on the matter. |

Exceptions to Article 15-A of the Federal Law of Administrative Procedure: |
Those indicated in sections I, III and IV of the requirements section. |
Requirements: I. Passport or identity and travel document that is valid in accordance with current international law, in original and copy; II. A photograph with the face visible and without glasses, in color, passport size, whose measurements must be at least 32.0 millimeters x 26 millimeters and a maximum of 39.0 millimeters x 31.0 millimeters, with a white background and front; III. Original and copy of the report of adoptability or pre-allocation issued by the National System for the Integral Development of the Family (DIF), in which information on the identity of the child or adolescent is indicated; IV. Original and copy of acceptance of the assignment of the minor and of continuation of the adoption procedure issued by the Central Authority of the Receiving State in which their wishes and that of the applicants are expressed to continue with the adoption procedure, and V. Payment of rights for the issuance of a visa in accordance with the provisions of the Federal Law on Rights. |
Issuance criteria: - The issuance of the visa is subject to the result of the consular interview. - The visa application procedures for foreigners who fall under the assumptions of Article 43 of the Law will be denied. |
Important information for the user: - In places destined for the international transit of people by land, sea and air, the foreign person must present the passport or identity and travel document that is valid in accordance with international law and in force with a visa, and deliver the FMM to the immigration authority properly filled out. - Foreigners are obliged to provide the information and personal data that are requested by the competent authority within the scope of its powers. - The visa may be used exclusively during the period of validity, which begins with the date of its issuance and for the number of entries indicated. - Within the next 30 calendar days counted from their entry into the national territory, the foreign person must obtain a Visiting Card from the Institute for adoption purposes. - The Visitor for adoption purposes may remain in national territory until the final resolution of the adoption is issued, including the registration of the birth certificate in the Civil Registry, obtaining the Mexican passport and the necessary documentation to guarantee that the girl , child or adolescent will be admitted in the country of residence of their adopter. |
