STUDENT VISA
Requirements:
1. Make an appointment online at https://citas.sre.gob.mx/
2. Fill out the application form, download HERE.
3. Submit the following documents:
a. One photo passport size (1.5 x 1.3/4 inches), in color, no glasses
b. Valid passport and (1) photocopy.
c. Proof of legal stay in Hong Kong (resident ID, visa, or proper entry document).
d. Original copy of the acceptance letter from School/Institution/University in Mexico. The letter must include the following information:
- Applicant’s full name
- Family name and given name as shown in passport.
- Level of Study/Degree
- Specifying degree or type of diploma.
- Field/program of study
- General academic or subject areas.
- Name of Program/Studies/Course
- Specific name of the course/program or studies Exchange program, Internship, etc.
- Length of program
- Date program begins and date of completion.
- Tuition fee
- Total fees required, including tuition and residency if applicable.
- Full Name of the Institution and additional information
The letter must also include the name of the institution, mailing address, telephone, fax number, e-mail, Web site, and contact person. It must be issued with the institution’s letterhead and address and must contain the signature of an authorized representative.
e. Proof of financial solvency with one of the following:
- Bank statements for the last 6 months/Proof of permanent job including average monthly of income for the last 6 months; or
- Proof letter of full scholarship (including tuition, residency and living expenses); or proof of other financial assistance; or
4. Payment of consular fee
Important information
Applicants are asked to arrive 5 minutes before the appointment’s assigned time slot.
All documents presented must be original. Printouts cannot be accepted: in case these documents are digitally generated and distributed they must be stamped/signed by the bank or employer.
All documents presented – proof of income, bank statements, etc. – must be original documents; if they are not originally issued in Spanish/English they must be accompanied by a translation into Spanish.
Please note that documents issued outside of Hong Kong – including bank statements, employment contracts and other supporting documentation – must be legalized/apostilled in the country of origin.
With regards to the “proof of legal stay”, applicants are required to present a valid HK visa (in the case of visitors or temporary residents) or a Permanent Resident HKID.
