TEMPORARY RESIDENCE VISA
**Applicants are required to apply and pick up the visa IN PERSON.
This visa is for persons who wish to:
- Stay in Mexico for more than 180 days and up to four (4) years.
- Travel to Mexico for retirement, investment, professional activities, technical activities, artistic activities, scientific activities, and sporting activities, or for those who
- Will not work, receive payment or have a work authorization permit.
Requirements:
1. Make an online appointment at https://citas.sre.gob.mx/. (Choose country: China, office: Hong Kong).
2. Fill out the Visa Application Form. Download HERE. Please print it on both sides of a single paper A4 sheet.
3. Valid passport and one photocopy of the data sheet.
4. Original and copy of the Hong Kong ID card or Proof of legal stay in Hong Kong or Macao.
5. One recent passport-size photo (3.5 * 4.5 cm), white background, studio-taken, no glasses.
6. Proof of financial solvency with one of the following sets of documents:

A. Employment. Documents that clearly state the average monthly income/salary during the six (6) months previous to the visa application date (bank statements; investment, pension or statements; or payment slips). These documents must be accompanied by:
1. Original and photocopy of proof of continuous employment (employer’s letter specifying position, employment period, and salary; original signed contract), OR
2. Original salary receipts.
B. Savings or investments. Statements of bank accounts or investments, under the name of the applicant, issued in Hong Kong, corresponding to the twelve (12) months previous to the application date.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
All documents presented must be original.
All documents presented – proof of income, bank statements, etc. – must be original documents; if they are not originally issued in Spanish/English they must be accompanied by a translation into English or Spanish.
Please note that documents issued outside of Hong Kong – including bank statements, employment contracts and other supporting documentation – must be legalized/apostilled in the country of origin.
Applications are submitted only by the applicant in the Consulate General of Mexico. No third parties are allowed to handle the applications.
