TOURIST/BUSINESS VISA
Holders of the following passports do not require a visa for tourist purposes:
Hong Kong Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, Macao Special Administrative Region of the People's Republic of China, or British National Overseas (BNO) and British.
For information regarding the countries that require visas to enter Mexico, refer to the following list.
**Applicants are required to apply and pick up the visa IN PERSON.
Requirements:
1) Make an appointment online at https://citas.sre.gob.mx/ (Choose Country: China, Office: Hong Kong).
2) Fill out the application form. Download HERE.
3) One (1) passport-size photo (recent): 4.5 x 3.5 cm, white background, without glasses.
4) Passport with minimum validity of six (6) months (original and photocopy).
5) Proof of legal stay (residence ID, visa, or entry document); (original and photocopy)
6) Proof of income that clearly states the average monthly income during the past 3 months (bank statements; investment, pension or statements; or payment slips).
AND
7) Proof of continuous employment during at least one year (letter of employment indicating salary and seniority; an original signed contract; or Business Registration Certificate for business owners).
Important information
Applicants are asked to arrive 5 minutes before the appointment’s assigned time slot.
All documents presented must be original. Printouts cannot be accepted: in case these documents are digitally generated and distributed they must be stamped/signed by the bank or employer.
All documents presented – proof of income, bank statements, etc. – must be original documents; if they are not originally issued in Spanish/English they must be accompanied by a translation into Spanish.
Please note that documents issued outside of Hong Kong – including bank statements, employment contracts, and other supporting documentation – must be legalized/apostilled in the country of origin.
With regards to the “proof of legal stay”, applicants are required to present a valid HK visa (in the case of visitors or temporary residents) or a Permanent Resident HKID.
LONG TERM VISA (10 years)
For a long-term visa application, please submit 6 months of the above-mentioned documents.
