Tourist Visa Financial Requirements

- Financial Solvency: You must choose options a) or b):
- Investment or bank accounts with a monthly ending balance of at least 300 days of the current general minimum wage in México City (approx. $4,394.11 USD).
To prove this, you need to provide- The printouts of your electronic bank statements certified (signed and/or stamped) by the bank of each of the previous 3 months.

- The printouts of your electronic bank statements PLUS a letter from your financial institution indicating your full name (no omissions), the details about your account, and the balance of each of the previous 3 months. The letter must be signed by hand.
- Employment or Pension that yields a monthly income of at least 100 days of the current general minimum wage in México City (approx. $1,464.70 USD) after taxes, during each of the previous 3 months. To prove this, you need to provide one of the following:
- Pension: letter from the Social Security or Pension issuer indicating the monthly amount that you receive PLUS the bank statements in which that amount is reflected or the pension receipts for each of the last 3 months. OR
- Employment: Verification letter from your employer stating your employment commencement date (must be at least one year ago), position title, and salary PLUS all paystubs for the last 3 months. The letter must include your full name as it appears in your passport and must be signed by hand. OR
- Student: Verification of enrollment from your university stating that you are currently enrolled in school, your degree/program, the commencement date and end date PLUS proof of employment, pension or scholarship with a monthly income of at least 60 days of the current general minimum wage in México City (approx. $878.82 USD) for each of the last 3 months.

- If you are 65 or older, you do not need to prove financial solvency, but you have to prove that you will travel to México as a tourist (flight itinerary).
- If the applicant is a minor (under 18 years old)
- Both parents MUST be present to sign the application.
- Original and copy of birth certificate of the minor must be presented.
- If only one parent is present or no parents are present or minor is accompanied by a third person it is mandatory to submit a power of attorney issued by the Mexican Consulate from the absent parent(s) along with a copy of an identification showing full name and signature of the absent parent(s).
General Requirements

- Passport, original and copy of the page with your personal details, photograph, & signature.
- One passport size photograph (front, no glasses, color, white background and must be recent).
- Measurements: No more than 39 millimeters x 31 millimeters
- Proof of legal status in the U.S. (this only applies for non-U.S. citizens) original and copy: US Visa, entry stamp, E.S.T.A. (Electronic System Travel Authorization) Permanent Resident card, EAD cards, approved I-797A Forms, Advanced Parole Forms (I-512), I-20 or DS-2019.
If Marriage licenses or Birth certificates are needed for visa application and they are issued in another country other than the United States or Mexico, they must have the Apostille or Legalization Seal.
For all documents in a foreign language other than English, a certified translation to Spanish must also be submitted.
