Temporary Resident Visa/Spouse of a Mexican Citizen

NOT AUTHORIZED TO PERFORM PAID ACTIVITIES. TO STAY MORE THAN 180 DAYS AND UP TO 4 YEARS

  1. Marriage license or document that prove family bond in original and copy.
  2. Prove Mexican Nationality of spouse or partner in original and copy:
    • Mexican Passport valid and unexpired
    • Mexican Birth Certificate
  • The applicant’s spouse or partner must be present the day of the consular interview.
  • Names on all documents must match.

General Requirements

  2. Passport, original and copy of the page with your personal details, photograph, & signature. 
  3. One passport size photograph (front, no glasses, color, white background and must be recent).
    • Measurements: No more than 39 millimeters x 31 millimeters
  4. Proof of legal status in the U.S. (this only applies for non-U.S. citizens) original and copy of your U.S. Visa, entry stamp, E.S.T.A. (Electronic System Travel Authorization) Permanent Resident card, EAD cards, approved I-797A Forms, Advanced Parole Forms (I-512), I-20 or DS-2019.

If Marriage licenses or Birth certificates are needed for visa application and they are issued in another country other than the United States and Mexico the certificates need to have the Apostille or Legalization seal.

For all documents in a foreign language other than English, a certified translation to Spanish must also be submitted.
