The “Day of the Dead” tradition comes to life annually with the gathering of thousands of Mexicans, national and foreign tourists, on November 1st and 2nd. Throughout the country they come together both in homes and educational and cultural venues, to promote the colors and flavors of these customs through the creation of altars honoring the memory of loved ones who have passed away.
In this context, the Cultural Institute of Mexico in Miami (2555 Ponce de León Blvd., 5th floor, Coral Gables, FL.) in collaboration with the Rosellgallery and Black Tower galleries, will create an altar of the dead whose offering will be dedicated to the renowned Mexican artist Frida Kahlo, framed by the exhibition of paintings made by Latin American artists. The opening will be on October 26th and will be on display until November 7th, from 8am to 5pm.
