BEFORE APPLYING FOR A VISA:

  • Please verify if you are required to apply for a Mexican visa. You can find the list of countries and regions that DO NOT require a visa to enter Mexico here: https://www.inm.gob.mx/gobmx/word/index.php/paises-requieren-visa-para-mexico/
  • Download the visa application form here. Prior to your appointment check the requirements for the specific type of visa of your interest. 
  • All required documents must reflect complete name as shown in passport.
  • Visas are NOT stamped on damaged passports.
  • All foreign documents submitted to support a visa application (not of Mexican or Indian origin) must be notarized and apostilled, in accordance with The Hague Apostille Convention, or legalized.
  • All appointments must be booked ONLY through the CITAS website citas.sre.gob.mx. Note that booking an appointment is free of cost. The consulate does not recognize any agencies nor third parties for booking appointments for the applicants.
  • Consular interviews are carried out in English, Spanish or a third language understandable to both parties. It is the applicant’s responsibility to comply with this requirement ​​or verify with the Consulate if there are any alternatives. The Consulate does not provide translation services.
  • When booking an appointment on CITAS system, if the message “no office found” appears, it means that there are no appointments available. It is recommended to keep monitoring the website for appointment availability. The Consulate CANNOT book appointments for applicants.
  • Once you have booked your appointment, it CANNOT be changed, modified or rescheduled.

Payment of visa issuance fee:

  • Please find below the information to pay the visa issuance fee. DO NOT MAKE A DEPOSIT before receiving confirmation of an appointment, visa fee must be paid prior to the submission of the documents and after scheduling an appointment:

  • Be sure to pay exact amount ONLY. Payment is non-refundable and does not guarantee that the visa application will be approved.
  • The issuance of any kind of visa is subject to the result of the consular interview.
  • Visa issuance fee is subject to the applicable exchange rate of the month. The applicable fee for the month of FEBRUARY 2025 is Rs. 4,789. Please bring a printed copy of the proof of payment with you to the appointment.

 

ENTRY TO THE CONSULATE:

  • Entry will be allowed ONLY to those who have a confirmed appointment and have paid the visa fees in advance (must carry the original receipt/ print out of the transaction confirmation).
  • All the documents should be in one folder. No briefcases or backpacks are allowed into the Consulate. The Consulate will not be liable for any losses or damages of personal belongings.
  • No electronic devices will be allowed (phones, smart watches, headsets, laptops, tablets, etc.).
  • No metal or sharp objects will be allowed.
  • Be informed that if any document is missing or you are unable to provide it at the time of document submission, you will have to book a new appointment using the CITAS site.

*To avoid inconvenience, please arrive 15 minutes before your appointment time. If delayed for more than 10 minutes you will be required to schedule another appointment through the CITAS site.

*The MAXIMUM processing time for each visa application is of ten (10) business days. You will be notified of the resolution to your visa application via the email you provided when scheduling your appointment.

If you are granted a Mexican visa, you will be able to travel to Mexico. Immigration authorities keep the right to grant or deny entry to the country. Officials can request information regarding the purpose and length of your trip, as well as the means to cover your expenses while you stay in the country.
