I. Appointments:

II. General Information:
· All U.S.A Citizens are required to present U.S.A Passport when entering Mexico (traveling by air, land or sea) at the point of entry.
· Electronic Multiple Migratory Form for air travel (FMM AÉREA) is an advanced way to register your entry into Mexico. To obtain this form:
1. Go to the following link: https://www.inm.gob.mx/fmme/publico/en/solicitud.html
2. Fill the online application form (must download Adobe Reader).
3. Print your FMM form and keep it with you, in hand.
4. Once you have completed your FMM online you still have to stop at the point of entry into Mexico to get the official seal by immigration. If you do not get the official seal please know that it will not be valid.
· Obtaining your FMM online does NOT guarantee your entry into Mexico.
· This is just another option to obtain an FMM (commonly known as a tourist visa) if traveling by air. If you are traveling by land please be informed that it can ONLY be obtained at your point of entry into Mexico.
III. Tourism incentives:
Applicants who are under any of the following categories do not need to apply for a Mexican visa when, visiting Mexico for unpaid activities and for a stay of less than 180 days:

b) US Permanent Residents traveling by air, land or sea to Mexico are required to present a valid Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) and a valid and not expired passport or travel document.
c) Other nationalities, Non-USA Permanent Residents. All those foreign nationals, regardless of their nationality won't need a Mexican visa as long as they are holders of a valid and not expired U.S.A visa in their valid passport.
d) Foreign visitors who, regardless of their nationality, have a valid Permanent Resident Card from Canada, the United States of America, Japan, United Kingdom or any of the countries comprising the Schengen Area.
e) All foreigners holders of a valid visa, from Canada, the United States of America, Japan, United Kingdom or any of the countries comprising the Schengen Area.
f) All foreigners of any country traveling by cruise do not need to obtain a Mexican visa. Foreigners are required to present and carry with them, their valid passport and proof of their legal status in the U.S.A.
***List of all countries that belong to the Schengen Area: Austria, Belgium, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Iceland, Italy, Latvia, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Liechtenstein.
Note: If the U.S.A visa stamped in your passport is already expired but you have an official document or form proving your legal status in USA, you should apply for a Mexican visa at this Consulate (I-797 A Forms, Advance Parole Forms, I-20 OR DS-2019 Forms, won’t be good enough for entering into Mexico without a Mexican visa).

IV. Types of visas and requirements:
1. Must present originals and copies of all documents required in order to apply for a visa. If presenting bank statements you must request a letter from your banker stating that you are the rightful owner of the account.
2. All visas have a processing Fee of $52.00 USD Non-refundable in order for the application to be submitted.
3. Consular interview does NOT guarantee the issue of the visa.
4. Consular Officer has the right to request more documents if needed.
5. Each person applying for residency must present his/her own income, unless he/she is applying as family unit. If you like to process your residency as family unity (1 income ), an apostille of your marriage certificate or/and birth certificate is needed and required.
6. Any documents that are from a different country, other than México, such as: birth certificate, marriage certificate and death certificate (must be apostilled and translated into Spanish if they are in a different language other than English or Spanish) and income converted into USD. Otherwise, they will not be accepted.
7. If you own a property in México, please bring the deed or purchase agreement, if you haven´t received yet an electric/water bill; or a leasing agreement and copy (MUST PRESENT ORIGINAL AND A COPY).
8. If you are retired, bring the letter from social security and copies.
