Visitor Visa Without Permission To Conduct Remunerated Activities

Applicable to foreign nationals intending to enter Mexico for a period of up to 180 days.

Requirements

I. Passport or travel and identity document: Must be valid under international law and current (submit original).
II. Legal status: Original document proving legal stay if the foreign national is not a citizen of the country where the visa is being requested.
III. Supporting documentation: Present official documents proving one of the following criteria:
  • Ties to the place of residence.
  • Financial solvency.
  • Invitation from a public or private organization or institution.
  • Drivers or operators of cargo transport intending to enter national territory for the sole purpose of loading or unloading goods.
  • Humanitarian grounds.
  • Scientific research or sample collection within national territory or jurisdictional waters (subject to prior authorization from competent national authorities).
  • Studies.
  • Participation in an event sponsored or hosted by the Federal Public Administration or autonomous constitutional bodies for a maximum duration of 180 days.

Important Information

Holding a valid visa does not guarantee entry into national territory. It only allows the foreign national to present themselves at a port of entry to request admission to the country.

Entry into Mexico is subject to approval by health and immigration authorities at the port of entry (immigration checkpoints). These authorities may, at any time, conduct an interview regarding the purpose of your trip and verify compliance with applicable legal provisions (Article 37 of the Migration Law and Article 60 of its Regulations).
