The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (SRE) organized a two-day meeting on international development cooperation for civil society organizations (CSOs) in order to disseminate and share information on activities and areas of opportunity.
The meeting was designed for those responsible for the planning, definition, management and implementation of social and/or development projects and fundraising.
The meeting was attended by renowned academic experts and representatives of CSOs, international cooperation agencies, international officials and the federal government who shared many experiences from this specialized field of international affairs.
The meeting was coordinated by the Foreign Ministry´s Unit for Economic Relations and International Cooperation through the Technical and Scientific Cooperation Department and the Department for CSO Relations, as the offices in charge of the dialogue with civil society.
In order to address the concerns of CSOs regarding international development cooperation, issues such as the global architecture and the national context, the management of international cooperation, the presentation of projects and the experience of donors in Mexico were addressed. International cooperation as a whole was reviewed, as were certain topics and sectors.
The meeting led to an exchange of experience and proposals to strengthen the ties, understanding and effectiveness of the activities undertaken by the various actors engaged in international cooperation.
