  • Alejandra García Williams es licenciada en Relaciones Internacionales egresada de la Universidad Iberoamericana en la Ciudad de México. Realizó estudios de postgrado en la Universidad de Oxford, Reino Unido, en Finanzas y Política Internacional Es miembro de carrera del Servicio Exterior Mexicano desde 1993.

  • En 1990 fue nombrada Asesora en la Coordinación de Asuntos Migratorios, Derechos Humanos y Narcotráfico de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores.

  • En 1994 fue adscrita a la Embajada de México en Estados Unidos, a la Oficina de Asuntos Migratorios y Fronterizos. De 1998 a 2000, se desempeñó como Asesora de la Secretaria de Relaciones Exteriores. Posteriormente, fue adscrita a la Embajada de México en Francia como responsable de la política interna, derechos humanos y asuntos jurídicos. En esa misma representación fungió como Delegada de México ante la OCDE.

  • En el 2007 se desempeñó como Cónsul Encargada en el Consulado General de México en San Francisco y posteriormente fungió, durante dos años, como Cónsul Adscrita en esa misma representación.

  • De diciembre del 2009 a mayo de 2015 se desempeñó como Cónsul Titular en el Consulado de México en Santa Ana.

  • Acting  Consul  General  in  San  Francisco,  California,  from  January  2007  to November 2007.
  • Prior to her post in San Francisco, Consul Garcia Williams was  head of the Office of Internal Politics, Human Rights and Legal Affairs at The Embassy of Mexico in France (2000-2006). During this period, she also acted as Delegate of the Mexican Mission before the OECD.
  • From 1998 to 2000, Consul Garcia Williams served as Advisor to the Mexican Foreign Minister.
  • From  1994-1997,  she  was  posted  to  the  Embassy  of  Mexico  in  the  United States in the Office for Migration and Border Affairs.
  • From 1990-1994 she was appointed Advisor for the Coordinator of Migration and  Human  Rights  at  the  Ministry  of  Foreign  Affairs. While  at  this  position, Consul  Garcia  Williams  assisted  and  coordinated  projects,  and  drafted documents  associated  with  immigration,  human  rights,  and  drug  trafficking, domestically and internationally.
  • In  her  different  assignments,  Consul  Garcia  Williams  has  participated  in several international conferences as speaker and negotiator, most notably in international forums related to human rights and immigration.
  • Career Foreign Service Officer since 1992.
  • Consul Garcia Williams has a Certificate in Diplomacy, International Finance and Politics from Oxford University in Great Britain.
  • Consul  Garcia  Williams  obtained  a  BA  in  International  Relations  from Universidad Iberoamericana, in Mexico City.
  • She  is  married  to  Rémi  Lacombe,  French  engineer  and  has  a  daughter, Anne-Sophie.
