This type of visa is for you if:

  • You are traveling to Mexico for vacations, transit, business, technical activities, artistic activities, scientific activities, sport activities, correspondent or journalist.
  • You will be in Mexico for up to 180 days.
  • You don't have a work authorization issued by Instituto Nacional de Migración (INM).

All visa processes require attending a consular interview. Issuance of the visa is subject to the result of the interview. All applications are personal and individual.

Requirements:

  1. Fill out the Application form: English (click here) or Español (click here) electronically and print it. 
  2. Valid passport in original and one photocopy of the pages containing personal information, photograph of bearer and expiration date/extensions
  3. Non-U.S. Citizens: original and copy of the document that proves migratory legal status in the USA (I-797, I-20 advance parole, etc). 
  4. One passport size photo, in color, no glasses
  5. Individuals under 18 years old must be accompanied by parents (or legal guardian) and submit original and a copy of official documentation proving relationship between parents or legal guardian and the child.
  6. Fee $54.00 dollars (cash, credit or debit card – Visa or MasterCard). Non-refundable if not approved. Applications can take at most 10 business days to be processed.
  7. Proof of economic solvency

EITHER:

Last three months of your personal bank accounts statements or investment, with a monthly balance of $4,410 usd

OR

Last three months of pay stubs with a net monthly income of $1,470.00 usd and employment letter specifying your position and income. 

Note

If a company/organization in Mexico is sponsoring or inviting the foreign national, the applicant can submit an original invitation letter. The invitation must have a letterhead, address and signed in ink. Scanned or pdf versions won't be accepted

  • Original Invitation Letter from the company/organization based in Mexico must be addressed to the Consulate of Mexico in Saint Paul requesting the visa and specifying:
    • Exact purpose or activity and length of time for the trip to Mexico
    • How your expenses will be covered
    • Applicant's full name and nationality
    • Registration number of the company/organization, address, complete name and contact information of the company/organization
    • Copy of ID of the person who signed the invitation letter
    • Last twelve months of company bank account statements, showing a monthly balance of $14,705 usd.
