BINATIONAL HEALTH WEEK: “YOUR HEALTH IS OUR HOPE

 

  • The 21st edition of the Binational Health Week will take place during October.

 

  • Will comprise more than 90 activities in October with flu and COVID-19 vaccination and awareness about mental health, among others.

 

The Consulate General of Mexico and the US-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership - the main ally and fiscal agent for the local Ventanilla de Salud - present the 21st edition of Binational Health Week in San Diego.

 During BHW, federal, state and local government agencies, community based organizations and thousands of volunteers will conduct a series of health and education activities including workshops, insurance referrals, vaccination campaigns and medical screenings. The main objective is to foster the health of the Hispanic and Latino population in the United States, increasing their access to medical services available in the area and improve health care coverage.

 BHW will comprise face-to-face or virtually more than 90 activities in October with flu and COVID-19 vaccination and awareness about the viruses, nutrition women´s health and mental health - which is considered a second pandemic - among others.

 In addition to the aforementioned vaccination series against COVID-19 and influenza, the Mexican community will be able to access to blood pressure and glucose tests, and HIV detection.

 At a national level, the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego is working along the US-Mexico Border Health Commission, the US-Mexico Border Philanthropy Partnership, the California Department of Public Health, and the County of San Diego Health and Human Services Agency.
