COLIBRÍ MX 2024 SCHOLARSHIPS

  • Last year, the ColibríMX Scholarship Program
benefited 83 students, 74% of whom were the first
generation in their family to attend college/university.

The Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, in collaboration with the Metropolitan Area Advisory Committee on Anti-Poverty of San Diego County, Inc. (MAAC), is pleased to announce that the application process for the ColibríMX Scholarships is now open. The deadline to submit your application is Sunday, June 30, 2024.

The ColibríMX Scholarships are designed to support college students enrolling for the first time in the fall semester of 2024. To be eligible, students must have a GPA of 2.5 or higher, demonstrate Mexican or Latino heritage, show financial need, and reside in San Diego County. The scholarships available for the fall 2024 school year vary, with a minimum amount of $1,000.00, aimed at providing significant support to those facing economic challenges.

The hummingbird, a bird that migrates annually from Central America and Mexico to the United States, symbolizes hope, perseverance, and personal strength. These attributes are shared by immigrant families seeking to improve their quality of life in a new country. The ColibríMX Scholarships embody this spirit of overcoming obstacles and community support.

We invite all interested parties to learn more about the eligibility requirements and to apply by visiting the website www.MAACproject.org/ColibriMX

This call is an important step in supporting our youth in their pursuit of higher education and a better quality of life. We thank everyone for their collaboration and commitment to this noble cause.

All community members are encouraged to participate in fundraising efforts. For information on how to donate, please visit www.MAACproject.org/ColibriMX
