Certified Copies of Birth Certificate

A birth certificate is used to prove identity before public authorities or organizations that require it, reliably showing personal information as well as the place, state/province, and country of birth.

The process is simple. To complete it, you must:

  • Appear in person at a Consular Office.
  • Bring a government-issued photo ID that proves you are the person named on the birth certificate.
  • Provide your Unique Population Registry Code (CURP) if you have one.
  • Fill out the corresponding application form.
  • Pay the applicable consular fee (usually $19 USD per certificate).

Note: The Consulate does not register persons born in Mexico.

It is also possible to obtain your birth certificate online by visiting the official government website: https://www.gob.mx/actas
