1. To begin the process to obtain a Visa at this Consular Representation, you must book appointment through http://visa-appt.consulmexsd.org
  2. Appointments are given Monday Through Friday from 7:30 to 11:00 am
  3. The day of your appointment, your documents will be revised, if  approved, you will be given a second appointment for the interview where you will get your Passport stamped with your new visa.
  4. Visa fee is $36.00

Payment methods:

  • Cash (We do not accept $100.00 bills or personal checks.)
  • We accept all Credit and Debit cards, except American Express.

 

GENERAL REQUIREMENTS FOR ALL TYPES OF VISAS

  • Application specifying the type of Visa required.
  • Valid Passport (book)
  • Passport copies (First Page, last page, and every page that has a stamp or a visa on it
  • If your are not an American citizen, you must proof your legal stay. (Permanent Residency, Visa o Permit stamped in your passport)
  • 1 photo passport size (clean face, no glasses, color, white background and front face)

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

REQUIREMENTS TO OBTAIN A PERMANENT RESIDENT VISA

 

 

 

 

  • Documents proving you retired

 

    • Original and one copy of proof of investments or bank accounts on a monthly average balance of $ 87,990.00 US dollars , over the past twelve months, or
    • Original and one copy of documents proving the applicant has had a monthly retirement income higher than $2,200.00 US dollars (tax free) during the last six months.

 

  • Personal letter addressed to the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego specifying :

 

–     Purpose of travel

 

–     Date and port of entry

 

–     Address in Mexico

 

–     Stating that there is no intention to work or engage in paid activities in Mexico

 

–     Leasing contract, or Trust  to prove your address in Mexico
