THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF MEXICO IN SAN DIEGO INVITES MEXICANS LIVING IN UNITED STATES IN THE CALL TO OBTAIN MASTER'S DEGREE SCHOLARSHIPS

San Diego, CA.- The USC Price School of Public Policy has signed an agreement with Mexico’s National Council of Science and Technology (CONACYT) to establish a joint program of graduate fellowships.

The USC Price-CONACYT fellowships provide scholarship funding for qualified applicants to study at one of the Price School’s master’s degree programs in public administration, public policy, urban planning, and health management and policy. The first class of fellows is scheduled to enroll in fall 2014.

Similar to the National Science Foundation in the U.S., CONACYT is an agency of the federal government. It carries a broad mandate, having responsibility for scientific and technological development in Mexico. CONACYT promotes educational and research agendas, grants scholarships and sets policies in these fields.

In addition, this agreement is established from a long-standing institutional collaboration involving public service training between the Price School and the Mexican government, dating back to the 1970s.

USC, recognized within the 6 best schools of public affairs in the United States, USC Price (www.priceschool.usc.edu), offers its programs in the city of Los Angeles, Ca., for outstanding students from around the world and, for the first time, the call opens for Mexican students based in the USA.

The masters have a duration of 2 years and ¨Dreamers¨ are also invited to participate in this opportunity.

Candidates will be selected by both institutions, based on the requirements, and will receive a scholarship for tuition and a monthly grant for maintenance. Fifteen scholarships are offered annually.
