THE CONSULATE GENERAL OF MEXICO IN SAN DIEGO,
IN REPRESENTATION OF THE IME - INSTITUTE FOR MEXICANS
ABROAD, HONORS THE ACHIEVEMENT AWARD “OTHLI”
San Diego, CA.- February 12, 2014. Throughout the gathering and commemoration of the 43rd Annual International Conference of the National Association for Bilingual Education (NABE); the IME Instituto de Mexicanos en el Exterior - Institute for Mexicans Abroad, in conjunction with the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, will be honoring Doctor Alma Flor Ada with the recognition award “OTHLI”.
"OTHLI” represents the acknowledgement for Mexican nationals in the country of Mexico or in a foreign land, recognizing and appreciating the value of the activities that are made in favor of assisting our compatriots wherever they currently reside.
Doctor Alma Flor Ada is an Emeritus professor at the University of San Francisco and has dedicated her life to the promotion of peace within an impulse of an oriented pedagogy of personal realization and social justice. She was a fellow scholarship recipient of “Radcliffe” at Harvard University and research scholar at the university’s International Foreign Exchange Program FULLBRIGHT. Flor-Ada is a well-known public speaker and has been awarded internationally for her public speaking and for being the author of more than 200 books which focus on children and adolescent interests and topics. Her literary work has contributed a substantial development to children’s literature in the United States of America.
