INVITES THE MEXICAN COMMUNITY TO PARTICIPATE
IN THE FINANCIAL EDUCATION WEEK 2014

San Diego, CA.- March 4th, 2014. The Consulate General of Mexico, for the fourth consecutive year, will be hosting the Financial Education Week 2014 (SEF), taking place from March 10th-15th, under the slogan:
¡Save, invest and improve your future!
SEF 2014 will organize six community fairs, four presentations and three educative workshops at different locations in the cities of San Diego, Escondido, San Marcos and Vista. The topics of discussion will be:
- Recommendations on how to manage your money
- Opportunities to invest in productive projects and small businesses
- Options that can help you protect your business
- Fulfillment of tax obligations
- Benefits of social security and retirement savings
- Informational Guide: where to seek financial orientation
The Mexican community is invited to participate in the workshops, free of charge, that will be taking place at the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego : 1549 India Street, San Diego, CA. 92101.
- Monday, March 10th, from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.
- Informative workshop: “Benefits of social security and retirement savings”
- Presented by: Yolanda York, Public Affairs Specialist, Social Security Administration
- Wednesday, March 12, from 12 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.
- Informative Workshop: “How to enroll and begin your University studies”
- Presented by Valeria Castelo, Certified Credit Counselor, Clear Point Credit Counseling Solutions
- Friday, March 14, from 12:15 p.m. to 1 p.m.
- Informative Workshop: “Using Credit with Intelligence”
- Presented by Valeria Castelo, Certified Credit Counselor, Clear Point Credit Counseling Solutions
These activities are part of the Financial Education Week, an initiative promoted by the Institute of Mexicans Abroad (IME) with the objective to improve financial education in the Mexican community living in another country.
The Consul General of San Diego, Remedios Gómez Arnau, invites the community to participate in all the events that this program offers and channel any possible entrepreneurial spirit, as well as the necessary training requirements in order to obtain a better approach towards family budgeting. All these topics will be accessible and discussed within SEF 2014 (Financial Education Week).
