MEXICO LAUNCHES PORTAL AND MOBILE APPLICATION FOR SPORTFISHING

Today, the Micro-site and Application for smartphones and mobile devices on Sportfishing was launched in Mexico. The event took place at the facilities of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and simultaneously in the Consulate General of Mexico in San Diego, by the Consul General, Remedios Gómez Arnau. This is a joint effort of all agencies participating in the Inter-Ministerial Group on Sportfishing in Mexico.
The launching ceremony was chaired by the Undersecretary for North America, Dr. Sergio M. Alcocer and Francisco Maass Peña, Undersecretary of Quality and Regulation of the Ministry of Tourism (SECTUR) and attended by representatives of the Secretariat of Navy (SEMAR), the Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (SEMARNAT), the Tax Administration Services (SAT), the Secretariat of Communications and Transportation (SCT), the National Fisheries Commission (CONAPESCA, the National Commission of Natural and Protected Areas (CONANP), the Office of Protection to the Environment (PROFEPA), the National Migration Institute (INAMI) and the National Bank of the Army, Air Force and Navy (BANJERCITO).
The micro-site of fishing arises as a response to the need for a tool concentrating all the information about requirements, procedures, obligations and penalties for those who carry out activities or present fishing services in Mexican waters. It includes a Sportfishing Manual, "Visit Mexico" brochure, a directory of all marinas in our country, as well as, a quick guide with only 4 steps for sport fishing in Mexico, both in English and in Spanish. These documents can be also downloaded directly from the mobile application.
This Web site has been developed to allow the necessary updates and incorporate information of sportfishing, that is considered timely and relevant when so required. The application will be available starting today for the Android platform and coming soon for iOS.
