REQUIREMENTS FOR VOTERS CREDENTIAL FROM ABROAD (INE):
- An official photo ID with your name on it as it appears on your birth certificate. If you have had a voting card in the past, please present it. The identifications accepted for INE processing are:
- Valid Consular Identification
- Valid passport
- Valid U.S. license or ID with security measures
- Military Service Card (Cartilla del servicio militar)
- Professional Identification (Cédula profesional)
- Credential issued by INAPAM
- Original proof of address (anything that comes to you by mail, with a postal stamp). PO Box are not accepted.
- For those born outside Mexico, they must present the original birth certificate of your father or mother who was born in Mexico.
It is important to note that the Consular Office functions as a processing window and is exclusively empowered to receive the documents of the interested party and send the digitized individual file to the INE for its opinion. The issuance of the credential corresponds directly to the INE.
IMPORTANT:
If the nationality of the applicant cannot be accredited after consulting the databases or systems to which the Consulate has access, one of the following documents must be presented to process a passport, consular registration and INE
- Birth certificate issued by the Mexican civil registry office or consular office
- Declaration of Mexican nationality by birth
- Naturalization Letter
- Marriage certificate
- S. birth certificate for those born in this country.
- Declaration of Mexican Nationality, for all those persons who, as adults, have acquired another nationality before March 20, 1998. This procedure can be carried out at the Consulate.
- U.S. Certificate of Naturalization, or U.S. Resident Card.

Presenting false, altered or fraudulently obtained documents, as well as providing false information carries criminal or administrative responsibilities.
