Certificado de Menaje de casa a Extranjeros (Household Goods Import Certificate)

Requirements:

1. Application for Household Goods Import Certificate.
2. Valid Passport (book passport) - original and 4 copies, for the first page (personal information).
3. Original Letter typed addressed to the Consulate General of Mexico requesting the service for Household Goods Import Certificate, date of travel, port of entry, and must include the current address in U.S. and the address where you will be living in Mexico. (4 copies).
4. Original Mexican Residence Card valid (Temporary or Permanent) or Mexican visa valid (Temporary or Permanent) and 4 copies, both sides. *Note: If you present your Visa as a proof of immigration status, keep in mind that your Resident Card will be required by the Customs authorities in order to release your shipment.
5. Present the household goods inventory (original and 4 copies). It must be in Spanish and type written with a detailed description of your household goods, the total amount, specify model and serial number for electronic devices, using the following format:

• Pay $190.00 US dollars.

 Procedure: Please schedule an appointment for the 'Household Goods Import Certificate' by sending an email to Esta dirección de correo electrónico está siendo protegida contra los robots de spam. Ensure to include your full name, current address, phone number, and confirm that you have all the necessary requirements. The day of your appointment you must appear before this Mexican Consulate with all the requirements. If the documents are correct, the Household Goods Import Certificate will be issued and you must pay the duties. The Household Certificate will be delivered within two business days. Important to keep in mind: 

• It is important to mention that the Household Request is subject to the study of the documents for approval and in some cases additional documentation may be requested.
• This household certificate allows you to bring into Mexico your household goods only when these items are imported no later than six months after your first entry.
• A motor vehicle is not considered a household good.
