GENERAL INFORMATION
All foreign nationals traveling to Mexico by air, land or sea require a valid passport or travel document when entering the country, regardless of their country of origin.
Additionally, foreign nationals traveling to Mexico require a visa unless they qualify under a specific visa waiver agreement. Citizens of the following countries are required to have a valid Mexican visa upon entering the country: http://www.inm.gob.mx/gobmx/word/index.php/paises-requieren-visa-para-mexico/.
If you’re traveling to Mexico for tourism, business or transit purposes, you do not require a visa if you are a citizen or legal permanent resident of any of the following countries: Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and any of the countries of the Schengen Area. All individuals in this category are required to present their valid residency permit along with their passports. Both documents must be valid for the duration of their entire stay in Mexico.
If you have a valid visa issued by the United States of America you do not require a visa to enter Mexico for tourism, business or transit purposes. All individuals in this category are required to present their valid US visa along with their passports. Both documents must be valid for the duration of their entire stay in Mexico.
If the US visa stamped on your passport is expired, you must apply for a Mexican visa at the Mexican embassy or consulate closest to your place of residence. EAD cards, I-797 A Forms, Advance Parole Forms, I-20 Forms or DS-2019 are not valid forms to request permission to enter Mexico.
If you are granted a Mexican visa you will be able to request permission to enter the country at a designated Port of Entry. In each case, a visa is subject to entry permission by an immigration official at the time of actual entry and can be revoked at any time. Visas are not a right but rather a concession by the country that grants them.
REQUIREMENTS For all types of visas, you must fill an application form and present it on the day of your appointment. Download the form here (link a pdf visa application form). Non-refundable processing fee. – CASH PAYMENT ONLY
