People in the following cases DO NOT NEED TO PROCESS A MEXICAN VISA, as long as the time of their visit is less than 180 days.

• Lawful permanent residents and citizen from USA, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or any of the countries of the Schengen Area.
• Holders any kind of Valid Visa USA, Canada, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland or any of the countries of the Schengen Area

When entering Mexico by land or air, you must fill out your MULTIPLE IMMIGRATION FORM (FMM), which records your visit as a VISITOR to Mexico and allows you to stay in the country for up to 180 days.

You can also enter the website of the electronic FMM form:

In the immigration review filter, they must present:
• Passport or valid identity and travel document that is valid in accordance with international law.
• FMM duly filled out.

Since the beginning on January 1st, 2024, the amount of $53 dollars will be charged for each visa application received, regardless of whether or not it is authorized: 

• Every visa application will generate a NON-REFUNDABLE payment.
• In the case of visa rejection, the payment will not be refunded.
• This provision is not applicable in the case of visas without charge. (Only exceptional visas)

 



VISITOR VISAS


IF YOU HAVE A CURRENT VISA OR PERMANENT RESIDENT FROM THE FOLLOWING COUNTRIES: USA, CANADA, JAPAN, UK OR ANY OTHER COUNTRY PERTAINING TO SCHENGEN. WILL NOT BE NECESSARY TO APPLY FOR A MEXICO VISA.

IF YOU DON’T HAVE VALID USA VISA AND YOU HAVE THE I-20 OR I-797, YOU WILL NEED TO MAKE AN APPOINTMENT TO APPLY FOR A MEXICAN VISA AT YOUR NEAREST CONSULATE FROM YOUR ADDRESS.

Requirements:

1. Appointment confirmed printed.

2. Valid Passport or Identity Travel Document. Original and vertical real size copy. (A blank passport page is required for visa stamping)
3. A front photograph passport size with visible face without glasses, color printed, passport size with white background. No earrings, no piercings.
4. Original and copy of document proving their legal status in this country.

If you are student, school letter and official transcripts will be required. Form I-20 must have a valid travel endorsement.

If you are student/OPT, form I-20, valid travel endorsement, employment authorization card and letter from your employer is required

5. Proof economic solvency. Original bank statements of the last 3 months with an ending balance of at least 300 days of the current general minimum wage in Mexico City (approx. $2,580.00 USD) after taxes, per each month under applicant name, no joint account.
6. Pay at this office $53.00 dollars visa no refundable fee. Only cash.

DO NOT BOOK FLIGHT TICKETS AND / OR RESERVE ACCOMMODATION BEFORE OBTAINING THE VISA, since the above does not influence in any way the granting of the corresponding visa.

Tourist visas are authorized in strict compliance with the requirements stipulated in the current Migration Law and based on a satisfactory consular interview.

The authorization to enter the country and the temporarily of the stay allowed in Mexican territory will be determined by the immigration authority at the point of internment.

 



TEMPORAL OR PERMANENT RESIDENCY

7. Original of letter of acceptance from an institution belonging to the Sistema Educativo Nacional in which aims to study this letter must specify:

• Full name of the applicant.
• Level, degree and area of study that the applicant intends to carry out.
• Name of the course in which the applicant has been accepted.
• Starting and ending date of the course
• Tuition fees of the course, and
• Details identifying the educational institution
