The Power of Attorney authorizes a person to act on behalf of another and they can be general or special depending on their purpose.
Powers of Attorney issued at the Consulate in Mexico in Seattle are valid only in Mexico.

- Pay the consular fee of $168.00 USD the day of the appointment (Visa, Master Card or Cash accepted)

Powers of Attorney issued at the Consulate in Mexico in Seattle are valid only for processes in Mexico.
Requirements

- Official ID (passport preferably).
- Pay the consular fee of $168.00 USD the day of the appointment (Visa, Master Card or Cash accepted)
- Fill the application form
- If the power of attorney is pretended to be special or limited, the applicant must provide the information about the specifics required. (Example: if the POA is needed to sell a property, the applicant must provide information about the property as full address and exact location including preferably a photocopy of the deed)
Delivery:
The document will be available for pick-up two bussiness days after the appointment at the consulate.
If you wish to receive your power of attorney by mail, you must provide the Consulate a prepaid legal size USPS envelope ready for delivery to your address or provide the amount in stamps required for a Priority Mail Delivery ($9.00 USD aproximately).
IMPORTANT: The Consulate is not responsible of delays or issues ocurred during delivery as this service depends on the USPS or the choosen provider.
Additional considerations:
- If the Power of Attorney is requested to represent a company (persona moral), the applicant must present the bylaws and/or the legal documents that identify himself/herself as legal representative of the company.
- Legal documents that were issued by other than a Mexican or US authorities as birth or marriage certificates must include apostille and translation in case they are in other language different of Spanish.
