Or if:
- Regardless of your nationality, if you have a valid visa or Permanent Resident Card issued by Canada, Japan, the United States, the United Kingdom or any country in the Schengen area.
- If you want to visit Mexico as a tourist, in transit, for business, for technical activities, as a journalist or as a student;
- If the period of your visit is less than 180 days, and if
- You will not receive any salary in Mexico
People who cannot enter Mexico
- The immigration authority can deny the entry of the visitor if he is subject to criminal proceedings or if he has been sentenced for a crime.
- As in all countries, the Mexican immigration authority will verify the authenticity of the documents presented and the veracity of the information provided. It will also confirm that there are no other types of restrictions.
- The Consulate cannot verify or guarantee your entry into Mexico.
- It is the exclusive prerogative of the immigration authority to admit or reject entry to any visitor.
Documents needed to enter Mexico
- A valid passport or travel document. It is not necessary for the passport to have a minimum validity (for example, 6 months), however, it must be a valid document during the entire time of your stay.
- The Multiple Migration Form (FMM), duly filled out. This form will be given to you by your airline or when you go to the immigration agent. You can also fill it out online at: https://www.inm.gob.mx/fmme/publico/en/solicitud.html Keep this form and do not lose it. You will be asked to hand it in at the time of your departure.
- The immigration officer at the port of entry may ask you for additional documentation, depending on the purpose of your journey.
- Tourism: Hotel reservations, return plane tickets.
- Business: Letter in Spanish from the foreign company indicating that you are an employee of it and that you will not receive any salary from a Mexican company.
- Technicians: Copy of the technology transfer contract, patents and trademarks, purchase of machinery and equipment, technical training of personnel and any other document related to the production process of a company established in Mexico.
- Students: Letter of invitation or acceptance from an institution belonging to the Mexican national education system, to take courses, conduct research or receive academic training for a maximum of 180 days.
If you present documentation issued by a country other than the United States of America or Mexico; These documents must have the proper Apostille or Legalization as appropriate; as well as with its official translation into the Spanish language.

Requirements:
- Schedule an appointment per person (https://citas.sre.gob.mx/)
- Visa application form printed on a single page on both sides duly completed and signed (click here to download).
- Valid passport in original and photocopy.
- Original and copy of the document that proves your legal stay in the United States (I-797, I-20, “advance parole”, etc.) Only applies if the applicant is not a US national.
- A 3.9 cm photograph. X 3.1 cm., with the face uncovered and without glasses, front, in color and with a white background.
- Payment of rights $54.00 USD (Non-refundable if not approved).
Originals, if printed from an online banking account, must bear the seal of the institution on each page, and preferably a signature from a bank representative in order to render them authentic. Shall the bank not have a physical location or may it be closed due to the sanitary contingency, a notary’s certification rendering them a True Copy may also serve as an original.

- The amounts are subject to the exchange rate on the day of the visit.
- The immigration authority may determine its rejection of the request for admission to the country, in case of being subject to criminal proceedings or having been convicted of a serious crime.
- The Consulate does not have the possibility of guaranteeing or verifying that the migratory agent allows, or not, entry to Mexico.
- In the event that additional documentation is requested for your visa application, a new appointment will be granted.
