 If you are planning to visit Mexico, on this site you will find information to obtain a Mexican visa.On October 10, 2014 the new GENERAL GUIDELINES FOR VISAS ISSUED BY THE SECRETARIES OF THE INTERIOR AND FOREIGN AFFAIRS (SPANISH) came into force.

When you send an email, please inform name, nationality, purpose of travel, length of stay and type of visa you want to obtain. If you have a letter from the National Institute of Migration (INAMI), please send it scanned with the Unique Personal Process Number (NUT, Número Único de Trámite)

 

 

 

Visa processing time

 

According to the provisions in the Immigration Law the processing time for the VISA is 10 working days. However, in most cases, provided that the above requirements are met, the visa could be issued the same day of the application.

$ 36.00 USD

 

 

Payment can be made in cash only. (These amounts will be fixed until the minimum wage change in accordance with the provisions of Article 22 of the Federal Law).

NOTE: In accordance with Article 37 of the Migration Act and 60 of its Rules, admission to Mexico is conditional upon the entry requirements laid down in national legislation and the approval of the immigration authorities in the place intended for international traffic people. 


I. VISITOR VISA (Not authorized to perform paid activities. Stay in Mexico cannot exceed more than 180 days all at once)Applies to: Tourists, business visitors, technicians, consultants, investors, persons in transit to other countries, students, ministers of religion, sportsmen, artists, celebrities, reporters, etc.
1) Foreign Visitor Visa EXEMPTa) US citizens with valid passport. b) If you have a VALID visa to the United States (stamped on your passport), or Permanent Resident Card (Green Card) AND a valid passport.c) Citizens who are permanent residents of Canada, Japan, Great Britain or any of the countries of the Schengen Area AND have valid passport.d) If your country is listed as EXCEMPT of Visitor Visa in Listing Regime by Nationality Consular AND you have a valid passport. 2) NON-EXEMPT Foreign Visitor Visa

If your country is in the category of "VISA REQUIRED", if your US visa has expired or if you do not qualify for the exceptions listed above, then you DO need Visitor Visa. II. TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA (Not authorized to perform paid activities. To stay more than 180 days and up to 4 years)a) Temporary Resident Visa. Economic Solvency

III. TEMPORARY RESIDENT VISA (Authorized to perform for-profit activities. To stay more than 180 days up to 4 years)

Foreigners who intend to work in Mexico must have a job offer. The petitioner (employer), the applicant or a lawyer in Mexico will be responsible for applying for admission from abroad to the National Migration Institute (INM). For information about the procedure visit their website at www.inm.gob.mx

If approved, the INM grants a motion for authorization to consular interview. INM will issue a Unique Personal Process Number (NUT, Número Único de Trámite) that will allow you continue the process at any Mexican Consulate. Temporary Import of Household Goods

Requirements

 PLEASE BRING THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENTS THE DAY OF YOUR APPOINTMENT: Requirements: 

  1. Application form (click here)

  2. Passport (original and 4 photocopies of the page with your personal details and photograph).

    • Must Have a minimum validity of six months

    • Must not be frayed, torn or altered

  3. Mexican Visa: Temporary or Permanent Residence (original and 4 photocopies) OR

  4. Mexican Residence Card: Temporary or Permanent Residence (original and 4 photocopies)

  5. House Hold Goods Inventory (click here) (4 sets and must be signed by the applicant)

  Disclaimer: 

  1. The name of the applicant stated on the application form and inventory must appear as it is stated on the Passport, Mexican Visa or Resident Card

  2. When filling out the application form and inventory please complete all the required fields in blue and sign all the documents.

  3. For the inventory please include a detailed description and quantity of the goods. For example:

    1. 2x Small boxes of clothes

    2. 4x Large boxes of linens

    3. 1x Box of plates

  4. For any electronics or appliances you must include the brand, model and serial number. For example:

    1. 1 Gaming Console: Microsoft, Xbox ONE, XQWE123524XXXX

    2. 1 TV 42”: Sony, Triton Series, QWEW135432XXXXX
