Rodrigo Báez nació en la ciudad de México.
Estudió Derecho en la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (UNAM) y obtuvo el grado de Maestro en Derecho Internacional Público por la Universidad de Leiden, en Países Bajos. Asimismo, cuenta con un posgrado en Derecho Estadounidense por la Universidad de Nuevo México.
Ingresó al Servicio Exterior Mexicano en el año 2012 y se ha desempeñado en los Consulados de México en Albuquerque, Sacramento y Chicago como Cónsul de Protección y Asuntos Legales. También se desempeñó en la Embajada de México en Austria y Misión Permanente para Organismos Internacionales en Viena, como Encargado de Asuntos Económicos y Promoción, así como Representante Permanente Alterno ante CNUDMI, IACA, OPEC, entre otros.
Está casado con Natalia, con quien tiene dos hijos, Nicolás y Leonora.

Rodrigo Báez was born in Mexico City.
He studied Law at the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM) and also holds a Master of Laws degree on Public International Law from Leiden University in The Netherlands, and a Postgraduate degree on US Law from the University of New Mexico.
He entered the Mexican Foreign Service in 2012 and has been posted at the Consulates of Mexico in Albuquerque, Sacramento and Chicago, as Consul for Protection and Legal Affairs. He served at the Embassy of Mexico to Austria and Permanent Mission to the International Organizations based in Vienna, in charge of Economic Affairs and Promotion, and as Alternate Permanent Representative to UNCITRAL, IACA, OPEP, among other.
He is married to Natalia and is the father of Nicolás and Leonora.
