In Mexico there are 2 different types of Police Certificate at the federal level: one is the Registry Data Certificate and the other is the Federal Criminal Record Certificate.

If you are carrying out immigration procedures before the Ministry of Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you will be asked for a Police Certificate or a Registry of Data Certificate.

REGISTRY DATA CERTIFICATE

The Registry Data Certificate is issued by the Attorney General's Office (FGR, by its acronym in Spanish). It is a document that aims to verify whether the interested person has registration data derived from previous investigations.

If this document has been requested by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC), you must carefully comply with and follow the guidelines and instructions provided by IRCC on its website.
