How can I know if I need a visa to go to Mexico?

 

You DO NOT require a Mexican visa if you fulfill all the following criteria:

 

1. If you hold a valid passport from the countries listed in the table below:

2. Or if:

  • Regardless of your nationality, you have a valid visa/ valid Permanent Resident Card issued by Canada, Japan, the United States of America, the United Kingdom or any of the countries comprising the Schengen Area ***

 

ü  .*** Regardless of having a valid visa/ Permanent Resident Card, refugees who only have an ID document and/or Travel Document  but do NOT have a passport, do need a visa.

 

3. If you wish to visit Mexico as tourist, in transit, for business, for technical activities, as journalist or for studies;

 

4. If the period of your visit is less than 180 days, and if

 

5. You will not receive any remuneration at all in Mexico.

 

Then NO, you DO NOT need a Mexican visa.

 

What if none of the above statements apply to me?

 

If you do not fulfill one or more of those criteria mentioned above, then you require a Mexican visa to enter the country.
