The Consulate and CUNY have collaborated for the past 15 years, starting due to the alarming numbers on the extremely low levels of higher education attainment of Mexicans in New York City and the demographic growth in this community. In this regard, Chancellor Milliken and Consul Gómez Pickering emphasized their commitment to strengthen already existing programs and explore new opportunities, such as establishing a window of Citizenship and Immigration Services at this Consulate, reactivate Chancellor Milliken´s visit to Mexico and increase the number of academic and exchange students.
