Consul General Diego Gómez Pickering, welcomes 37 Mexican Exchange students at City University of New York (CUNY)
- Consul General, Diego Gómez Pickering, received 30 students from Technological Institutes from the state of Puebla and 7 women from Yucatán who are in an academic exchange program with the City University of New York (CUNY).
- This Consulate has a strategic collaboration with CUNY, with the purpose to open the doors to higher education for Mexican students.
The General Consul of Mexico in New York, Diego Gómez Pickering, welcomed on July 25th, 37 students from the states of Puebla and Yucatán that are part of an academic exchange program with the City University of New York (CUNY) with the purpose of improving their English language skills and exploring other educational opportunities.
Brooklyn College hosted 30 students from Technological Institutions in Puebla and City College received 7 women from the state of Yucatán. For the second year, this programs are implemented in the framework of the Bilateral Forum of Higher Education, Innovation and Research (FOBESII) in benefit of 127 students.
Consul Gómez Pickering underlined his commitment to continue these educational programs that build bridges between Mexico and the United States and that foster the development of both countries. Jesús Pérez, Director of the Mexican Task Force at CUNY, highlighted the importance of teamwork between institutions and uniting efforts to promote the empowerment of the Mexican community. Finally, some students presented their testimony and acknowledged the positive impact this exchange program is having on their personal and professional development.
