On Thursday, March 30th, the US-Mexico Chamber of Commerce Northeast Chapter (USMCOCNE), with the support of the Consulate General of Mexico in New York, launched a reception ceremony to commemorate its 95th anniversary at the very first place where this chamber was once established back in 1922: the Woolworth Building, located in the Financial District of New York City.

Among the attendees were businesspeople, diplomatic corps and local authorities of NYC, all of whom had the opportunity to witness the unveiling of the plaque that commemorates this special anniversary, as well as listen to the remarks from Alejandro Ramos, Executive Director of the USMCOCNE; the Consul General of Mexico in New York, Diego Gómez Pickering; Rosa Ertze, Special Counselor of the law firm Duane Morris – on behalf of Eduardo Ramos-Gómez, President of the USMCOCNE; and Daniel Kadishson, Director of Economic Development of the Mayor’s Office in NYC.

During his remarks, Consul General Gomez Pickering stated that the Consulate will continue to support the mission of the Chamber, as well as the investment and economic opportunities on both sides of the border and encouraged the private sector to actively engage in promoting the benefits of this economic relationship.

Rosa Ertze highlighted the joint efforts that the private sector, including the USMCOCNE, and past administrations have done in order to achieve the current successful relation between Mexico and the US and invited the attendees to raise their voice and actions to advocate for a united and prosperous North America.

To conclude, Daniel Kadishson delivered a message from Mayor Bill de Blasio in which he rendered thanks to the Chamber for its work in New York City and where he committed to continue enhancing this economic relationship.
