Foreign nationals exempted from visa to travel to Mexico as non-lucrative visitors (tourism, business visitor, in transit, correspondent, studies, medical treatment) for stay up to 180 days:

 

I. British passport holders and those from the countries mentioned in the list published on the Migration National Institute  or listed below do not require visa to travel to Mexico as non-lucrative visitors:

 

Argentina, Andorra, Australia, Austria, Barbados, Belgium, Belize, Bermuda (UK), Bolivia, Bulgaria, Canada, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Croatia, Curacao (The Netherlands), Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia,  Finland, France, French Polynesia, Germany, Greece, Guadalupe (France), Guam, Hong Kong, Hungary Iceland, Irlanda, Israel, Italy, Jamaica, Japan, Korea, Latvia, Lichenstein, Lithuania, Luxemburg, Macao, Malaysia, Malta, Marshall Islands,  Micronesia, Monaco, The Netherland Antilles, New Zealand, Norway, Palau, Panama, Paraguay, Poland, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Romania, San Marino, Singapore, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Trinidad and Tobago, The Bahamas, The Netherlands, The United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Virgin Islands (USA), Uruguay.

 

These regulations are also applied to British citizens of British Antarctic Territory, Bermuda, British Indian Ocean Territory, British Virgin Islands, Cayman Islands, Falkland Islands, Gibraltar, Guernsey, Jersey, Montserrat, Isle of Man, St Helena and Dependencies (Ascension Island and Tristan da Cunha), Turk and Caicos Islands, Pitcairn Island, South Georgia and South Sandwich Islands, Sovereign Base Areas on Akrotiri and Dhekelia. In these cases, British passports state with respect of the holder as: "Overseas British Citizen" or "Overseas British subject".

II. Foreign nationals regardless of their nationality - exempt holders of UK travel documents (blue or black)- holding a valid  USA B1/B2 visa, UK C- visitor visa, Canadian visitor visa, Japanese visitor visa or Schengen C-visit visa stamped in a valid passport, provided that the visa is to be issued for multiple entries and continues to be valid during the intended period of stay in Mexico do not require visa to travel to Mexico as non-lucrative visitors.  

 

This migratory regulation does not apply to temporary residents (BRP temporary resident card, including students, Tier 4, Tier 5, Skill Worker, Spouse visas) as they require to apply for Mexican visitor visa.

 

III. Permanent resident in the United Kingdom (ILR / ILE / PERMANENT RESIDENTS). Proof of permanent residence in the United Kingdom. 

 

To enter the country visitors exempted from visa must fulfil the following requirements:

 

1. -A valid passport for more than six months at the time of the intended date of entry to Mexico. It must be in good condition, without scratches or amendments.

 

2.-Immigration authorities may request additional information such as: reason of the trip, period of stay and domicile during your stay in Mexico, main destination, hotel accommodation, return ticket, proof of financial means (international credit cards, debit cards or traveller's cheques).

 

3.- The immigration officer will stamp the FMM card upon arrival (land only). Please keep it in a safe place and do not lose it. You will be asked for this document at your departure from Mexico.

 

 

When your stay in Mexico is different from tourism, additional documentation may be required by immigration authorities.

 

In some cases, immigration authorities may ask you for information:  about your habitual residence or from the country of origin and require documents that allow verifying that information; activities (work) you carry out in your country or place of origin and those you will carry out in Mexico.

 

If you come at the invitation of a person moral/legal or physical, the immigration authority may require their complete contact details: names complete, mobile phone, address, email, place of work.

 

If you are going to participate in any event such as conference, international meetings, it is recommended to bring the corresponding invitation and agenda.

 

If you intend to stay for less than 180 days as business visitor to provide services a company in Mexico without receiving remuneration from the Mexican company, please be aware that the immigration authority at the port of entry may also require:

 

Mandate letter in Spanish from the parent company, affiliate or foreign subsidiary that indicates that the foreign person is an employee of it and that the payment of the services that will be provided in the national territory will be paid by it.

 

If you intend to stay for less than 180 days as technical or business visitor to provide services a company in Mexico without receiving remuneration from the Mexican company, please be aware that the immigration authority at the port of entry may also require:

 

Copy of the contract for the transfer of technology, patents and trademarks, for the purchase and sale of machinery and equipment, for the technical training of personnel, or any other contract related to the production process of a company established in Mexico or that links the foreign party with the Mexican part, or proof of appointment by the shareholders' meeting of companies legally established in Mexico.

 

If you intend to stay for less than 180 days for studies, without receiving remuneration in Mexico, please be aware that the immigration authority at the port of entry may also require:

 

Letter of invitation or acceptance from an institution belonging to the National Educational System to carry out courses, studies or research or training projects for a maximum period of one hundred and eighty days.

 

If you intend to stay for less than 180 days to participate in an unpaid project or activity in Mexico invited by public or private organization or institution located in Mexico, please be aware that the immigration authority at the port of entry may also require:

 

Original letter from a public or private organization or institution that invites the foreign person to participate in an unpaid event or activity in Mexico, stating the purpose of the visit and the estimated length of stay. If the organization or institution bears the travel and permanence expenses of the foreign person in the national territory, a commitment letter will be required.

 

The Mexican immigratory authorities have the faculty to grant or deny the entry into Mexico if the visitor does not fully comply with the migratory regulations.
