Certificate of Document Authentication

Requirements:

  1. Personal appearance of the person requesting the Certificate of Document Authentication.
  2. Complete the application form in full. It must be filled out completely.
  3. Valid official identification of the applicant (that includes name, photograph, and signature), original and two letter-size copies (both sides). Acceptable IDs:
    • Mexican Passport
    • High Security Consular Registration (Matrícula Consular de Alta Seguridad)
    • Voter ID card issued by the National Electoral Institute (INE – formerly IFE)
    • Mexican Military Service Record (Cartilla del Servicio Militar Nacional)
    • Foreign passport (booklet type)
    • California Driver’s License or California State ID issued by the Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV)
  4. Document to be authenticated, original and two letter-size copies. Only Mexican documents can be authenticated. If you are requesting authentication of an official identification (Voter ID, Consular Matrícula, etc.), you must submit copies of both sides, and they must fit on one single side of the letter-size page.
  5. Payment of $20.00 USD for consular fees.
