CERTIFICATE OF DOCUMENT VERIFICATION (COTEJO)

The legal act of "cotejar" consists of confronting or comparing one document with another (for example: Mexican birth certificate, Mexican passport, consular registration card, or other official documents), attesting that it is a true and faithful copy of the original, which the consular officer has examined in person.

Only Mexican documents are eligible for a Certificate of Document Verification (Cotejo).
