The Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh, with the support of the Secretariat of Foreign Affairs, through the Institute for Mexicans Abroad, invites educational institutions and social organizations interested in participating in IMME Scholarships 2026 to apply for financial support for Mexican nationals or individuals of Mexican origin enrolled in one of their academic programs, at the following educational levels:

GUIDELINES

• Academic institutions and non-profit organizations may submit their IMME-Becas application form at the Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh. Annex 1 states the total amount allocated for 2026, as well as the information where the application form may be submitted.
• Only applications from institutions or organizations that contribute to leveraging additional funds, at least matching the amount requested, will be considered.
• Incomplete applications or those submitted after the application deadline will not be accepted; for mailed submissions, the postmark date will be considered.

It will be the responsibility of the organizations or institutions to ensure that the consular representation has received their application.

REQUIREMENTS

• Submit the funding application (Download here), signed by the representative of the institution or organization, along with its attachments:
• Copy of the institution’s/organization’s bylaws.
• Include a proposal with the following elements, with a maximum length of three pages:
• Mission of the applicant (institution/ non-profit organization).
• Description of:
  • The organization or institution, its objectives, programs, activities, and achievements in the field of education and in the educational development of Mexican migrant communities.
• Its projects and plans to meet the expected goals (anticipating the results that would be achieved with IMME Scholarships funds and complementary resources), as well as the procedures for evaluating the achievement of the objectives.
• Other contributions received and anticipated by the institution/organization to help achieve the project’s objectives and related activities. A budget detailing the proposed expenses of the applying institution or organization, including a brief explanation of the purpose of such expenses. It must also indicate how the financial support will be distributed among students, and when the corresponding support payments will be made, depending on the option.

SELECTION PROCESS

The Consulate will verify that applications comply with the requirements of the Call for Applications. The selection of institutions and organizations will be carried out by a Local Committee composed of at least three distinguished individuals from the consular jurisdiction, with ties to education and community work. The Local Committee must be inclusive and address local educational needs.

• Preference will be given to institutions and organizations that can match the funds requested from IMME Scholarships; that is, those that, through other funding sources, complement the funds at an equal or higher level of those presented in their application.
• In the case of community organizations providing education for employment, upon their explicit request, the Local Committee may consider operating costs (teacher compensation, infrastructure) as equivalent to contributed funds.
• Only institutions and organizations whose work plan complies with the objectives and guidelines of this Call for Applications will be considered.
• The number of Mexican nationals or individuals of Mexican origin benefited will be taken into account, in accordance with the selected modality.
• To determine the amount of support, consideration will be given to the written commitment stated in the application regarding the amount that institutions and organizations will contribute to their financial support program.

DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Any matter not provided for in this Call for Applications shall be resolved by the Consul General of Mexico in Raleigh in accordance with her powers and responsibilities.

IMME Scholarships Resources 2026

The Government of Mexico, through the Institute for Mexicans Abroad (IMME for its acronym in Spanish), allocated an amount of $32,500 (thirty two thousand and five hundred dollars)  to the Consulate General of Mexico in Raleigh, taking into account the size of the consular jurisdiction, the number of strategic partners, the population served, and its performance in the immediately preceding period.

El Consulado General de México en Raleigh, con el apoyo de la Secretaría de Relaciones Exteriores a través del Instituto de Mexicanas y Mexicanos en el Exterior (IMME), convoca a instituciones educativas y organizaciones sociales interesadas en participar en IMME-Becas 2026 para obtener estímulos económicos destinados a personas mexicanas o de origen mexicano matriculadas en alguno de sus planes académicos bajo los siguientes niveles educativos:

Si formas parte de una organización o institución interesada en contribuir al desarrollo educativo, acércate para formar parte de la   iniciativa IMME Becas.

BASES

• Las instituciones educativas y organizaciones sociales interesadas deberán presentar la solicitud de apoyos financieros de IMME-Becas 2026 en el Consulado General de México en Raleigh. En el Anexo 1 se indica el importe total para el año 2026, así como la información donde se podrá presentar el formulario de solicitud.
• Sólo serán consideradas solicitudes de instituciones u organizaciones que contribuyan a multiplicar fondos adicionales, que al menos se equiparen con los solicitados.
• No se aceptarán solicitudes incompletas o posteriores a la fecha de cierre de la convocatoria; se considerará, para los envíos por correspondencia, la fecha del sello postal y no la de recepción en las oficinas consulares.
• Será responsabilidad de las organizaciones o instituciones asegurarse que la Representación Consular haya recibido su solicitud.

REQUISITOS

Entregar la solicitud de fondos (Descargar aquí) con la firma del representante de la institución u organización y sus anexos:

• Copia de los estatutos legales (bylaws) de la institución/organización.

Incluir una propuesta con los siguientes elementos, con una extensión máxima de tres cuartillas:

• Misión de la institución educativa u organización social no lucrativa.

Descripción de:

• La organización o institución, sus objetivos, programas, actividades y logros en el ámbito de la educación y en el desarrollo educativo de las personas migrantes mexicanas.
• Sus proyectos y planes para cumplir las metas esperadas (anticipando los resultados que se conseguirían con los fondos de IMME-Becas y los recursos complementarios), así como los procedimientos para evaluar el logro de los objetivos.
• Otras aportaciones recibidas y anticipadas por la institución / organización para ayudar a cumplir con los objetivos del proyecto y las actividades relacionadas.
• Presupuesto que describa a detalle los gastos propuestos por la institución u organización solicitante, incluyendo una breve exposición del propósito de dichos gastos. Asimismo, se deberá indicar cómo se distribuirán los apoyos financieros entre los estudiantes, y cuándo se efectuará la entrega de los apoyos correspondientes, dependiendo de la opción.

MECANISMO DE SELECCIÓN

El Consulado verificará que las solicitudes cumplan con los requisitos de la Convocatoria. La selección de instituciones y organizaciones estará a cargo de un Comité Local integrado por al menos tres personas destacadas de la circunscripción consular, vinculadas con la educación y el trabajo comunitario. El Comité Local deberá ser incluyente y atender las necesidades educativas locales. 

Se dará preferencia a las instituciones y organizaciones que puedan equiparar los fondos solicitados a IMME-Becas; es decir, que, a través de otras fuentes de financiamiento, complementen los fondos de manera igual o superior a los presentados en su solicitud.

En el caso de organizaciones comunitarias que impartan educación para personas adultas, a petición expresa de éstas, el Comité Local podrá tomar en cuenta el costo de operación (remuneración a maestros, infraestructura) como equivalente a fondos aportados.

Se considerará, únicamente, a las instituciones y organizaciones cuyo plan de trabajo cumpla con los objetivos y lineamientos de esta Convocatoria.

Se tomará en cuenta el número de personas mexicanas o de origen mexicano que serán beneficiadas, de conformidad con la modalidad seleccionada.

Para determinar el monto del apoyo se tomará en cuenta el compromiso señalado por escrito en la solicitud sobre el monto que aportarán las instituciones y organizaciones a su programa de apoyos financieros.

PUBLICACIÓN DE RESULTADOS

El Consulado General de México en Raleigh publicará los resultados de la Convocatoria el jueves 07 de mayo del 2026, en la página web

SOLUCIÓN DE CONTROVERSIAS

Cualquier asunto no previsto en la presente convocatoria será resuelto por la Cónsul General de esta Representación, conforme a sus atribuciones.

Recursos IMME-Becas 2026

El gobierno de México a través del Instituto de los Mexicanos en el Exterior asignó un monto de $32,500 (treinta y dos mil quinientos) dólares para el Consulado General de México en Raleigh, tomando en cuenta el tamaño de la circunscripción, el número de aliados estratégicos, la población atendida y su desempeño en el periodo inmediato anterior.
