Legalization of documents

The General Consulate of Mexico in Toronto legalizes documents issued in Ontario or Manitoba that were authenticated by the Canadian government prior to January 11th 2024.

The Apostille Convention came into effect in Canada on January 11, 2024. The Convention eliminates the requirement for public documents to be legalized by the Mexican consular representations. The apostille stamp will be the only requirement for Canadian public documents to be valid and accepted by the 125 contracting parties of this Convention, including Mexico.
