From January 1, 2017, the amount (visa fee) will be charged for each visa application received, regardless of whether or not it is authorized:
A) Every visa application will generate a payment.
B) In the case of refusal of visa, the payment made will not be refunded.
C) This provision is not applicable in the case of visas without charge (Only visas as a visitor without permission to engage in paid activities, tourism, business or transit for less than 180 days: Bolivia, El Salvador, Guatemala, Haiti, Honduras, Nicaragua, Dominican Republic, Serbia, South Africa)

1. Effective since 2010, all American citizens need to show their passport or card passport when they enter Mexico (traveling by air, sea or land).
2. U.S. permanent residents who want to travel to Mexico (by air, sea or land) need to bring their valid U.S. permanent resident card and passport.
3. All the Foreigners, regardless their nationality, who want to enter Mexico as a tourist, business or transit purposes, for less than 180 days, won’t need a Mexican visa if they have a valid visa from Canada, the United States, Japan, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland, and any of the countries of the Schengen Area in their passport. Additionally, if they have an expired US visa but have others documents that proof their legal stay in the United States, they can apply for a visa in the nearest Mexican Consulate. (The forms I-797 A, Advance Parole, I-20 or DS-2019 are not enough to enter Mexico. Therefore, it is necessary to apply for a Mexican visa).
