Visa Information
Citizens and permanent residents of the United States or Canada, as well as foreign nationals holding a valid U.S. visa, DO NOT REQUIRE a visa to enter Mexico for tourism, transit, or business purposes, provided their stay does not exceed 180 days and they do not engage in remunerated activities.
To enter Mexico, travelers must present their valid passport at the port of entry (air, sea, or land) along with one of the following documents:
- A valid U.S. visa stamped in their passport.
- A U.S. Permanent Resident Card (Green Card).
- A Canadian Permanent Resident Card.
Upon arrival, Mexican immigration authorities will issue a Multiple Migratory Form (FMM), which will state the authorized duration of stay.
For stays exceeding 180 days due to business, studies, rental income residency, employment, or permanent residency, as well as for the renewal of these permits, it is necessary to apply for a Temporary or Permanent Resident Visa.
Please Note: Obtaining a Mexican visa permits travel to Mexico but does not guarantee entry into the country.
