TRASLADO DE RESTOS

 

REQUISITOS PARA EL VISADO DE TRASLADO DE CADÁVER O DE CENIZAS

 

 

BURIAL OR ASHES TRANSFER PERMIT VISA REQUIREMENTS

 

 

 

 

1.       Copia certificada del acta de defunción de California apostillada con traducción al español, en papel oficial de la funeraria.

 

California’s Certified Copy of the Death Certificate duly apostilled with Spanish translation.

 

 

 

2.       Permiso de tránsito de cadáver o cremación firmado, en original, con su traducción al español, en papel oficial de la funeraria.

 

Application and permit for disposition of human remains, in original, duly signed, with its Spanish translation.

 

 

 

3.       Certificado de embalsamamiento o cremación, en original y apostillado, firmado por el embalsamador o lugar de cremación, también con su traducción al español, en papel oficial de la funeraria.

 

4.       Carta de permiso para transportar cadáveres expedida por el Departamento de Salud del Condado, en donde conste que la muerte no fue por enfermedad contagiosa. Firmado en original, con su traducción al español.

 

5.       Todas las traducciones al español deben estar notariadas.

 

Embalming or Cremation Certificate, in original, apostilled, signed by the embalmer or cremator and duly notarized, with its Spanish translation.

 

 

Burial transit permit cover letter, stating that the death was not due to contagious disease, original duly signed in Spanish or English with translation.

 

 

All Spanish translations must be duly notarized.

 

 

 

6.       Carta de la funeraria con los datos del itinerario con nombre, dirección y teléfono de la funeraria en México. Si el cuerpo será inhumado (enterrado), o cremado en el Distrito Federal, el Consulado deberá tramitar el Acta de Defunción consular (gratuita, se requieren dos testigos ante el Cónsul) y por lo menos una copia certificada de la misma (13 dólares c/u).

 

Name, address and telephone of the funeral home in Mexico.  If the body is to be buried or disposed in Mexico City (“Distrito Federal”), the Consulate must issue a Consular Death Certificate (free of charge, two witnesses are required to appear before the Consul) and issue at least one certified copy of such (13.00 dollars each).

 

 

 

7.       Presentar, de ser posible, una copia de uno de los siguientes documentos del difunto: Acta de nacimiento, pasaporte o identificación como matrícula o credencial para votar.

 

Present, if possible, a copy of one of the following documents of the deceased: birth certificate, passport or Mexican ID such as "Matrícula" or voter’s ID card.

 

 

 

NOTA:   ES MUY IMPORTANTE que el nombre del difunto sea inscrito en los requisitos 1., 2. y 3. tal y como aparece en el requisito 5. (acta de nacimiento, pasaporte, matrícula, credencial IFE, etc.). Lo anterior para evitar problemas jurídicos durante la inscripción de la defunción en el Registro Civil local, o en posibles procesos de sucesión, seguros, pensiones u otros.

 

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT that the name of the deceased appears on requirements 1., 2. and 3., as it is registered on requirement number 5: Mexican birth certificate or passport or consular id or Mexican voter’s ID card, etc. This, to avoid further legal problems during registration of death in the local Civil Registry or in possible inheritance, insurance, pension or other related procedures.

IMPORTANTE: EL CONSULADO NO ASUME NINGUNA RESPONSABILIDAD POR ATRASOS O CONTRATIEMPOS DERIVADOS DEL INCUMPLIMIENTO DE ESTOS REQUISITOS.

ES ALTAMENTE RECOMENDABLE NO PROGRAMAR EL ENVIO DEL CUERPO/CENIZAS SI NO SE CUENTA CON EL VISADO CONSULAR.

 

IMPORTANT: THE CONSULATE WAIVES ALL RESPONSABILITY FOR ANY DELAY OR DIFFICULTIES DUE TO NON COMPLIANCE OF THE REQUIREMENTS HEREIN.

THUS, WE STRONGLY ADVISE YOU NOT TO SCHEDULE A BODY/ASHES TRANSFER UNTIL THE CONSULAR SEAL IS OBTAINED.
