What kind of visa do I need?

Tourist visa.

  1. Maximum length of stay: 180 days (6 months)
  2. Purpose of Visit:        
  1. Tourism.
  2. Visit a foreign Embassy or Consulate in Mexico.
  3. Business purposes. 
      Will not engage in paid activities    

 Tourist visa Long Duration.

  1. Maximum length of stay: 6 months
  2. Visa valid for 10 years
  3. Purpose of Visit.

  2. business purposes
     will not engage in paid activities

 Temporary Resident Visa

  1. Maximum length of stay: 180 days to 4 years
  2. Visa valid up to 4 years when renewed every year
  3. Purpose of Visit.
  1. Work (authorized to perform paid activities)

The Temporary Resident visa does not allow the bearer to perform paid activities, but once in Mexico, the National Institute of Migration may issue a work permit if requested. More information (click here)

Permanent Resident Visa.

  1. Maximum length of stay: no limit
  2. Purpose of Visit: permanently resides in Mexico
    1. Through Pension/Retirement | Spanish
    2. Dependent of a of a Permanent Resident of Mexico
    3. Parent or child of a Mexican Citizen
