Household Inventory List Permit

Mexican Embassies or Consulates abroad issue Household Inventory List Permits on behalf of foreign nationals who bear a temporary or permanent visa/card. There is no need to schedule an appointment but petitioners must comply with all the following requirements:

  1. Valid passport;
  2. Temporary or permanent visa/residence card. The processing of the Household Inventory List Permits must occur within the following 6-months after the visa/card was issued;
  3. A letter addressed to the Consular Section of the Embassy of Mexico applying for the permits (must be in Spanish); DOWNLOAD AN EXAMPLE HERE
  4. Present the household goods inventory list. It must be in Spanish and type written. First page must indicate the name of one of the persons who bears the valid visa/card, the address in the USA and the length of stay in the USA, as well as the address in Mexico. Cover the consular fee of $185 USD during your visit. Debit and credit cards, other than American Express, are accepted.
