REPLACEMENT OF RESIDENT CARD (LOST, STOLEN OR DAMAGED)

 

  1. Fill out application: https://consulmex.sre.gob.mx/sandiego/images/PDFs/Solicitudes/Visa-Ingles2018.pdf
  2. Valid book passport (original and copy of the first, last and all pages that have visas or stamps).
  3. If you are not a United States citizen, you must bring your U.S. alien permanent resident card (green card) or a U.S. valid visa (original and one copy).
  4. One passport sized photo (minimum of 32.0 mm x 26.0 mm and a maximum of 39.0 mm x 31.0 mm). Front view, white background, recent and without glasses. It must be printed on matte or glossy photo quality paper.
  5. Original official police report that states the Mexican Resident ID card was lost, stolen or damaged.
  6. Original of the Resident card it was only a partial destruction. In the case that your card was lost or stolen, bring a copy if you have.

Important Information

  • The displaying of the documents does not guarantee the visa approval/issuance. As the visa itself, does not guarantee the admission to Mexican territory. The admission to Mexico is subject to approval by the immigration authorities in the position intended for international movement of people.
  • The day of your appointment, please make sure to bring all the requirements and copies. Note: additional paperwork may be asked for in certain cases.
  • For your convenience, if you do not speak English and/or Spanish you must be accompanied by an interpreter. 
  • Please respect the social distance measures of 6 feet or 1.8 meters between each person
  • Your punctuality will be appreciated. Due to the number of people allowed in the building, if you are late you will lose your appointment.
  • Application processing fee $44.00 US dollar.
